My parents are huge Pittsburgh Steelers fans. When the Steelers won the AFC Championship, Mom and Dad decided that Jakin and Corban (and my nephew Thomas, whose mother is a huge Green Bay Packers fan....) needed Steelers jerseys for the Super Bowl. The boys were ecstatic to open the package with the jerseys. They wore the jerseys all day yesterday - but only after I assured them that they could still wear them on Sunday even if they wore them on Friday. Corban was hoping to sleep in his, but I nixed that idea.
Number 83 is "Heath Miller" on the Steelers team. Sometimes it's useful to have a common last name. But, #83 is also special because it was my Dad's number when he played football in high school.
The boys are growing up. They now look forward to watching the Super Bowl, not just to the party that goes with the Super Bowl. They will certainly be cheering for the yellow and black. Corban keeps insisting that he wants both teams to play well so that it will be a good game, but he wants Pittsburgh to win by 1 point in the end. Happy Super Bowling everyone!
