A week of work on the house

Jack ripped out our temporary kitchen sink and temporary counter tops last Saturday. Since then I've been doing dishes in our mudroom sink (much better than in a bathtub...). Building our cabinets has been a slow process, but Jack is doing an amazing job and he's really enjoying the process.

Mid-week... fitting the cabinet boxes and two little cuties just to make the picture more interesting!

And today, after some sweat-inducing soapstone cuts and trips from outside to basement, then basement to kitchen ("Ohhhhh, I really don't want to drop this....!), the four pieces of this section of counter top just slid right in their places. We'll oil it tomorrow(?) and then get the faucet hooked up in the new sink. And then it's on to choosing a final cabinet paint color (the color has changed multiple times) and building drawers.

Fantastic progress! Can't wait to see the final paint color. I was swatch browsing last night and thought of you. :)
